A lawsuit has been brought against Yale University that in many respects simply replicates the Harvard College and University of North Carolina litigation. It was originally filed by the Trump Administration in October, 2020. The Biden Administration asked that it be voluntarily dismissed and the District Court did so. Students for Fair Admissions, the same plaintiffs in the Harvard and North Carolina case, then stepped into the breach in late February, 2021, making essentially the same claims about discrimination against Asian American and White applicants. The matter is currently inactive, pending developments at the Supreme Court in the Harvard case.
